16.3: M editing generally has flow and some techniques like cross cutting. It has one jump cut at the start which breaks the flow – she moves location/and her conversation jumps. Issues with pacing here it is far too conversational and tedious and not tense indulging dialogue and ruining the actual drama – this has no place in the film really and should be done away with. The structure is clear and does has a disruption but not middle or end– there is no twist apparent or shock factor. The footage filmed is incomplete to allow you to be very creative or imaginative or maintain a sense of genre that fits the mood. Sound does not fit the genre (with neither Thriller nor Horror) although later this works but drop out then wind chimes? - and there are clear issues in the mix with the plane overhead and a girls voice over the last scene.

22.3: M Some variety of shots and some examples of framing that use rule of thirds and depth. Some controlled use of low key lighting and uses available sources for some effect well. Establishing shot used and some close ups for suspense, mystery or convention and kidnap does quite well as well as hiding the attacker. Overall although the shots are steady and have some strengths in use of variety of angles etc there are not enough set ups used to give fluency and consistency to the whole sequence – the shoot is basically incomplete to tell the story or the twist effectively. You could have used non linear editing to show some of this as flashbacks. You production skills lighting, shooting etc are proficient hence Merit but the short film is under produced to be effective in the editing to make the mood or story effective/clear.

CRIT, LOG AND EVALUATION.

When shooting i would say we  needed to find the right time so our production team came to the conclusion that we should shoot at 5pm regarding it would be fairly dark so we agreed on 5. so the producer correctly put together a shooting schedule which was followed thoroughly. we we had arrived on shoot it was quite dark so in order to enhance our frames and alter the brightness we had brought the ISO up to 800 unaware that in the post production stage when it came to editing the footage will render as a grainy and pixelated. The shooting schedule was very realistic and planned out for example everyone knew where they had to be and what they had to do so it was very easy to follow. the main problem when looking back on our footage it was very grainy so to improve we would shoot night for day and then colour correct on an editing programme such as final cut but overall the shooting schedule was great to follow and it kept the crew organised and prepared for certain aspects of the project.

When looking back on our storyboard i would say credit to our Director Of Photography to to the fact that the storyboard was dense and filled with detail. i say dense because it contained 27 Shots and the scenes and shots were correctly labelled and laid out. also when it came to using photos our DOP went out and shot just for a clear understanding for every scene. i would say it was detailed and sufficient to shoot a one minute film and just by looking at the story board i could create an image of the shot and just recreate it by looking at the storyboard so it was very easy to Follow and understand.

the shot list was arranged perfectly by our producer. it was detailed with the type of shots and where the camera would be static or panning. and every shot was listed with the requirements needed. it was very easy to understand and follow. the director and the DOP could just recreate a shot with just a glance at the shot list.so it was professionally laid out and densely filled with the appropriate detailing. also all the shots were explained an grouped together to make is easier for the crew. when shooting we defently followed the schedule of filming due to our shot list.

when it came to locations and permissions we had to consider factors such as lighting and audio so to try and combat the factors we brought a lot more equipment so for example for noise reduction we decided to use a RODE shotgun mic but we had it on a setting so it will block out sounds over 80Hz so that is how we dealt with the audio. when it came to lighting we need to use two LED battery powered lighting kits which was hired from college. Regarding the permission to film we contacted Greenwich and Bexley council and we also applied on the Film office website which was suitable to the appropriate area. Also when  assessing the site we took pictures of risks such as deep water and anything that could be danger to the crew.


Before filming the actors were briefed and were rehearsing before we started to shoot so our talent was all organised and prepared so it meant we made the less mistakes and the acting was perfected. i believe we had the right choice of characters for example the actors we happy with the script and memorized their dialogue they were very comfortable and appropriate for the roles my crew had selected them as. 

Yes, all the crew done what was required from them at a highly professional standard, everyone cooperated and every member put in their bit. everyone in my crew knew the things that they had to do and i believe the team work was very successful we all worked in cooperation.

all the equipment such as the camera and the microphone was charged the night before but for things that were battery powered, we would have a contingency plan for example we would bring extra batteries in order to save us making so many visits so there was a contingency plan in order to prevent wasting time and ruining our plans. Also before the night of filming i went through the cameras settings making sure the SD card was empty so no files would be corrupted when converting the footage in order to edit.

our call sheets were successful in the sense that all our crew and talent turned up on time and at the right location with the sufficient equipment and props that they're were told to bring. The call sheet was effective it told everyone where they needed to be so it was laid out appropriate.

Conclusion
in conclusion when creating our short film i can say that we as a crew successfully went out and i can happily say that every member of the crew done their part however i believe we can make improvements such as lighting and our use of props and equipment.
